MESS FREE ART

I love this toy!!!!

Chloe has recieved it as a present for Christmas. I must say it’s a brilliant toy and both me and Chloe love it.

Chloe doesn’t like to get messy (I know its very unusual for a toddler; she obviously got OCD from her mum:-) ) and I don’t like mess.

This mat is amazing for big babies (yes I still cannot bring myself to call Chloe a toddler) who just start to learn what drawing is and how to do it. This matt has a pen which you fill with water, kids can draw on the mat with “water”( yes water ! This means no colourful marks on the floor, furniture and walls … for now anyway) and as the water dries up the drawing disappears.

I would highly recommend this !

YORKSHIRE PUDDING WITH FRUITS!

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER MEAL…

YORKSHIRE PUDDING WITH FRUITS

This is a brilliant idea for a dessert or a snack. Yes I did say a dessert! And there are so many options to serve it!

Ingredients:

– 125g flower

– 125ml skimmed milk

– 125ml water

– 2 eggs

– handful of raspberries and blueberries

– 2 tbsp soft cream

Cooking method:

Sieve the flower in to a bowl and make a well in the centre.

Break eggs in to the well and whisk together with flower. Mix water and milk together; pour little by little in to the well. Whisk until all liquid had been used and until your batter is nice and smooth.

Chill mixture in the fridge for minimum 30min.

Preheat your oven to 180C gas /200C fan. Heat up muffin tray until hot then as tiny bit of oil in to each hole and heat again for few minutes. Pour the butter in to the holes and bake for 30 min until Yorkshires are crisp and gold.

Blend fruits together, then add soft cream and combine.

Cool your Yorkshires then put 1 tbsp of cream on to the pud and serve.

This is a tasty and healthy dessert that your kids will love!

You can make lots of different toppings from blended banana, grated apple to just pouring kids yogurt on to it.

For the not so healthy version, you can have them with jam and custard.

ROCK & ROLL BABY !

I love cute and pretty baby clothes … But a woman needs a change from time to time. There is nothing cuter than baby rocking this cool rock look! This is really trendy right now with a lot of celebrities dressing their babys/kids in that way.

There is lots of lovely, cool pieces available on the high street now. This is my favourite few :

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER MEAL …

SCHABOWE (pork in breadcrumbs)WITH SWEET POTATO CHIPS & PEAS

Ingredients:

– 1 pork filet (chicken and turkey breast are brilliant as well)

– 1 sweet potato

– 50g peas

– thyme

– 1 egg

– 50g breadcrumbs

– olive oil

Cooking method:

Preheat your oven to 200C. Wash, peal and slice sweet potatoes. Put them on a baking tray and sprinkle with thyme and a little bit of olive oil. Bake for 15minutes.

Make sure that your filet is around 1 cm thick. If you are using chicken breast flatter it with a meat hammer or rolling pin.

Prepare 2 plates: on one whip an egg so it’s one consistency; on the second one put breadcrumbs.

Cover meat in egg then breadcrumbs and fry on a frying pan on a low heat for 5 minutes on each side.

Boil water and pour over frozen peas; leave for few minutes. Cooking peas in unnecessary. Peas its such a small vegetable that leaving it in a boiled water for 2 minutes defrosts it and that way it will keep all of the goodness.

For a grownup version just season the egg with slot and pepper before dipping meat in it.

Enjoy it !!!

CHATTERBOX! 💜❤️💚💜❤️💚

Chloe as you all know from my blog is a very happy baby/toddler (still can’t bring myself to call ther a toddler) . She always was quite vocal, making lots of different sounds and in recent months starting to say some words.

I don’t know what happens but on Friday she got up and became a chatterbox !! She doesn’t stay quiet! She keeps talking in her baby language all the time.

I find it fascinating how overnight child can change so much ! How something in they brain “clicks” and they just start doing something ! Seeing her talk so much, and telling me long sentences (in her baby language- just to clarify 😂) got me really emotional ! I am such a proud mum!

APLLE PASTRIES

This is one of the easies to make snacks/desert which kids will love. And what is important they are sugar free ! Whole family would love them.

Ingredients:

– ready to roll puff pastry

– 1 Apple

– 1 Pear

Cooking method:

Preheat oven to 200C (or whatever temperature is required on the packet of the puff pastry).

Wash and peal apple and pear and cut in to small stripes.

Cut pastry in to squares (around 3cm x 3cm). Place apple or pear in the middle of each square .

If you love a little bit of sugar you can sprinkle some icing sugar on top of the pastries once they have cooled down.

Making your own Christmas traditions …

Its funny how now Christmas is the saddest and the happiest time of the year at the same time….

IMG_0738

Christmas was always the most amazing time of the year in my family. From when I was very little my parents have been making it the most special and magical time of the year. We had lots of Christmas traditions which I cherish now that both of my parents are not with me anymore.

We would dress the Christmas tree the weekend before Christmas Eve. We all had our own decorations which Mum bought for us, usually the same decorations just with a different accent colour. My Mum would always buy a big bag of chocolate sweets which we would tie ribbons on to and then hang on the Christmas tree. The amount of time each of us would sneak to the Christmas tree in the day and at night and try to steal chocolates😂… With time we have worked out the best way of doing it: sneak in and don’t take the sweet off the Christmas tree as the wrapper was making way too much noise. Instead just slip the sweet from the wrapper and try to leave the wrapper so it looks like chocolate is still in it. By the time we were allowed to eat the chocolates (after the 26th) there was only lots of empty chocolate wrappers left 😂

I am Polish and in Poland we celebrate the 24th of December. That’s when we have our Christmas dinner (made of 12 dishes followed by crazy amounts of cakes) after which we open our presents. We always sat down to the Christmas dinner as soon as the 1st star would appear in the sky. I remember my Dad getting all 4 of us (my brother, me, and 2 of my sisters) all excited trying to be the first one to spot the star.

I remember every year my dad calling : “I have just seen Santa Claus!” My Mum would take us to our bedrooms to try to spot Santa who should be coming at any minute… Every time we would get very disappointed as we couldn’t see him and then we would hear my Dad shouting “O MY !!! KIDS KIDS !!!” We would run in to the living room to see lots of presents under the Christmas tree 🙂 and being told that we missed Santa Claus again !!!

IMG_0337

Then it’s dinner time full of its own traditions like having an empty plate if someone hungry comes and asks for food, sharing  ….. Oplatek…..with the whole family before you start your dinner; all of us kids eating as quickly as possible so we can open our presents . Oh yes we open our presents on the 24th!!!!

Now that I am older, I have my own baby and I miss my parents terribly those memories and traditions have became very important. That’s why me and my husband made a real effort to make sure that we have our own family traditions which hopefully my daughter will love and pass on …

We will be combining Polish and English traditions together:

❄️Letter from Santa is a must every year. I know that right now Chloe doesn’t understand but as she grows up it will be such a lovely and exciting moment for her.

❄️Going to Crews Hill garden centres on the first weekend of December for an amazing kick-start to Christmas. They have the most amazing Christmas decorations and Christmas attractions for kids.

IMG_0349

❄️ Every year each of us chooses new Christmas decoration.

❄️ Christmas tree is always getting dressed on the first weekend of December. I know that it seems early to everyone but I love Christmas decorations so I want to enjoy them for as long as I can.

❄️Visiting Santa 😊. Maybe next year it will be a little bit less scary 😂

❄️Family Polish Christmas on the 24th of December. It will be a very traditional dinner exactly as my Parents did it for so many years. After dinner we are allowed to open one present.

❄️Getting milk, cookies and carrots ready so if Santa visits us he can have a snack.

❄️Opening presents in the morning on the 25th followed by Christmas dinner/ day with family.

Do you have any Christmas traditions ? Are there any traditions that you carrying on doing from when you were little ? Please share x
