Winter Jacket which one to choose ??!!!

Yes it is already this time of the year. I know that you are thinking: it’s still hot, I don’t need to buy it for another couple of months. You are wrong! Remember that fashion world works on average one season in advance, and trust me those beauties won’t be round for long. And with baby getting dirty so quickly and so often you will need more than one … Which is a great news right? 😊

For a bit older babies :

Green parka by H&M (we already own one😊) Beige coat by H&M, Leather jacket by River Island and Pink parka by ZARA

Few more fabulous coats to choose from. Grey coat from Mamas & Papas, Leopard print coat from River Island, Beige coat from NEXT.

For small babies / newborn

There is a very cute selection for the tinies babies, practical doesn’t mean boring !

Both of those are from GAP. This quilted velvet all in one is such a great winter choice for a boy.

This Brown bear all In one is from H&M (come also In white) And this beatyfull pink one is from Mamas & Papas.

VEGETABLES WITH RICE

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER MEAL …

Vegetables with rice

Ingrediants:

– 1 broccoli (I used frozen)

– 1 small sweet potatoe

– handful of young broad beans (I used frozen)

– 60g of peas

– vegetable stock (around 100ml but it depends what consistency you want)

–  100g of rice

Cooking:

Steam sweet potato an broccoli for 8min.

Then add peas and beans for another 5 minutes.

While steaming vegetables cook your rice and prepare the vegetable stock.

Because my princess is still at the stage 2 of weaning I blend all of the ingediance (except the rice). Add vegetable stock while doing so, if you want it more runny add more, if you want it to be quite thick add less.

Once blended add rice, and it’s ready to serve. You can ado add cooked chicken in to it.

DESSERT : Yogurt and blueberries pancakes

Ingrediants:

– yogurt 200ml

– flower

– 1 tsp baking powder

– 150g blueberries

Cooking:

Comine all of the ingrediants together except blueberries. Mix until smooth then add blueberries.

Fry for a minute or two (until golden)  on each side. Great as a snack or when introducing finger food.

YES I AM MRS PERFECT and it bothers you because?

I am one of the people who keeps my house very tidy at all the time (only exception is when 8 babies with their mums invade my house for a “baby party”) who has a make up on when I leave the house, who never leaves house in tracksuit bottoms, whos baby pram is clean, who goes out a lot with her baby, who cooks, cleans ect.

I am not saying it to show off … I am saying it it because for some reason it pisses off lots of people. Why would it bother you? It doesn’t bother me if you don’t do any of those things !

What you need to realise is that it is a hard work to do all of it when you have a little babie ! When you sit and watch your TV  while drinking coffee I am already making breakfast, having shower and getting dress. When your baby is napping and you are resting or trying to catch up on your sleep, I most of the time are cooking, cleaning, washing, having shower ect. And yes I do have a bad days as all of us do but I make sure that they happen very rarely.

I don’t judge anyone for having messy house, not doing make up or not having perfect hair. I don’t pass any sarcastic or nasty comments, so you keep yours to yourself !

FINGER FOOD

In my opinion you should start introducing finger foods few weeks after starting to wean your baby.

On the very beginning whatever you give should be very soft :

– cooked carrot sticks

– toast

– very small baby corn crisps (one from 6months)

– Cooked Apple cut in to sticks or Banana

– cooked sweet potato cut in to stripes

– rice cakes (one from 6months)

Once you established good feeding routine at 7months you should be introducing texture to your baby food and so much more finger food.

I introduced texture to Chloes food by adding very small baby pasta or couscous to all of her meals. I would cook her normal meal, make it in to a poore and then add the texture. Also adding meat makes the food more textured when blended. For a desert I would start chopping fruits in to a very small squares and give it to Chloe instead of blended fruits. Good ideas when starting is to add some cooked apple cut in to a tiny squares in to a yogurt, or add some cut fruits in to a poored ones – banana is ideal.

From 7 months you can start giving so much more finger foods (I started earlier as Chloe was a perfect eater and we started weaning much earlier)

 – Corn snacks (very big selection)

– Biscuits (baby ones, remember that they are high in sugar)

– Cooked vegetables – pretty much all of them- perfect one being broccoli, carrot, cauliflower.

– pancakes with banana or cooked apple are a perfect snack.

– sliced soft fruits : Bannana, Peach, Kiwi, Strawberry

– cucumber

From 8 months I became brave enough to introduce smaller vegetables and fruits like

– sweetcorn

– peas

– blueberries

And letting Chloe feed herself, which also helps with developing motor skills of picking small objects and putting them in to a mouth.

I also started giving her a bigger variety of fruits and vegetables :

– Pineapples

– Mango

– Melon

– Pepper

– courgette (cooked)

– breadsticks

KEEP IN TOUCH DAY … More like the worst day of my life !!!

Keep in touch day at work … We all need to do it in a build up to the maternity leave finishing (can’t even think about it!!!!!!!). So today is the day that I need to leave my baby and go for few hours to work !!!!  Leaving the house and saying my goodbye was one of the hardest things in my life ! I have left Chloe with her dad and grandfather which is making it much easier …. Right? So why was I in tears leaving the house ??????  It’s so so so hard … I can’t even think about how will I be able to go back to work full time ???? Leave Chloe in the nursery or only with grandparents without my husband checking that Chloe is ok ???

On one hand I just want to shout : I QUIT, I DONT WANT TO WORK !  I want to be at home withy baby …. On the other hand I know that it’s good for her to be surrounded by other people, and that I go back to work so she can have everything that she needs and wants… There is also this small part of me thinking that I nee to think about my future and my carrier ….

BEING A MUM JUST GOT WHOLE LOT MORE DIFFICULT

Bigger bigger bigger each day !

We are 9 months old today !!! That means that she is older than the time she spent in my belly! For some reason 9 months feels as important as 6 months. Quite emotional! Where did this time go? Didn’t I just gave birth to her ????

What did I get as a present from her ? 3 sleepless nights in the row while 2nd tooth is coming through !

TEETHING ??????

If you ask me if Chloe is teething my answer would be YES … For the past 4 months ! Was she really teething for so long? God only knows,as the teeth have a long way to go and it doesn’t happen overnight … What I know now is that she is DEFINITELY teething now. My usually very happy baby for the past 2 days has been so  upset, crying every 5 min and having small temperature.

We all keep waiting for those first teeth, now finally at the age of  8 months I can see tooth coming through !!!!!

We all think that dribbling and putting everything in to the mouth is a sign that baby is teething-wrong !!!! I have reed an article which explains that this is a normal phase in baby’s development and has nothing to do with teeth.

So how do we know if baby is teething?

– dribbling lots and lots more than the usual lots !

– temperature

– one red cheek (apparently not both)

–  red bum

– swollen gums

– moody, clingy

…. But it’s still a little bit of guessing game as it is with everything when it comes to babies  😉

TIPS FOR HOLIDAYS WITH A BABY 🌴☀️🌴😊🌴😊🌴😊🌴😊🌴☀️🌴☀️🌴

Going on holidays with a baby is not an easy task, doing it for the first time is quite overwhelming! Here are some lessons learned by myself after our first holidays in a hot country.

1. HEAT RUSH

Babies very often get heat rush so it’s best to be prepared. Take creams good for heat rush and ideally speak to your GP about it (ask for medication incase your babie gets it). Chloe get it half way through our holidays, lucky it didn’t bother her and she was her happy self.

2. PRETTY SWIMMING COSTUME

They do look good but aren’t much use, especially with very little babies. I ended up having Chloe mostly only in her nappy, or in a sun protecting swimwear. I would advise to buy lots of pretty panties  instead 😁

3. TENT

Yes Tent😁 I didn’t realise that I needed one till a very last minute. I was talking to my husband about  how nice it would be to take Chloe to the beach when he asked me if she will lay under a umbrella? Of course that the answer is no ! Then I started panicking : where will she play, sit, hide from the sun? Lucky I discovered those foldable baby tents! I would definitely recommend getting one as it was great through the holiday! Chloe was using it a lot.

4. MOSQUITOES 😖

Get something to prevent your baby getting bitten, and something just incase a mosquito manages to get a taste of your baby.

5. LOTS AND LOTS OF WET WIPES

Can’t live without wet wipes… It’s shocking how many packed I have used on our holidays! Take lots !

6. PORTABLE FAN !

What a great invention ! You can get small fans which attach to a pram (or anything else) it will keep your baby cool.

7. PLAYMAT

You always think about taking baby toys with you … But what is your baby going to play on ?  Take a small play mat, it doesn’t really take any space but it comes very handy.

8. CLOTHES

I have packed a whole suitcase of clothes for Chloe…. And she didn’t wear half of it.  She has spent most of the time in a pretty nickers as it was too hot to wear anything. She wore lots of jumpsuits (on a very thin stripes) or very summery dresses. I found that T-shits are way too much in a hot country.

Hope that this will help you with getting ready for your holidays! ☀️🌴☀️🌴☀️🌴☀️

Development craziness !

It seems that my baby is on some short of development craziness ! One day she started crawling, few days later learnt how to sit up on her own, than started pulling herself to standing position, another few days later started crawling up the stairs !!!!!! And then walking while holding on to the furniture !!!? It’s crazy!!!!!!!!  Where is my little girl gone ? 😢 I am a very proud mummy !

NEED TO BUY GOOD HAIR DYE TO COVER ALL OF MY UPCOMING GREY HAIR – Chloe has started to crawl !!!

It has happend !!! Finally after waiting and waiting it has happend. After days and days of thinking that she will do it (rocking back and forward on her knees, making one hand move forward) she did it … AND THERE IS NOTHING STOPPING HER NOW !!!! Nothing stopping her to go and grab nails which I just left on the floor for a second, nothing stopping her trying to climb up the stairs, eat my sleepers, eat anything that is on the floor, pull things out of drawer …….. All of that and hous which is not baby prove equal me getting lots of grey hair😂

I need to baby prove my house and I need to do it quickly !!!!

But as anything to do with a baby this is not an easy and straightforward as I thought 😊.

There is so many stair gates : wooden, metal, plastic, pressure one or drill in ones, one you can’t trip on ect …. Once I made my mind up on what I want guess what happened …. It doesn’t exist!!! 😩 I wanted a wooden one you can’t trip on, which doesn’t require drilling in to the wall ! will have to go for the secon best 😀

Play pen … What’s your opinion? I am getting one so I can go to the toilet without being followed or scared that she will decide to climb up the sofa !

Table corners protectors ( the only straightforward thing to buy ) are sorted .

Cupboard locks are at less invisible to the eye … I remember my mum using elastic bands to stop me 😂

And door locking stoppers and sockets protectors .

And that’s when I will drawl the line … I am not buying foam for my door frames or covering all furniture with it  or any other crazy stuff … Chloe needs to learn not to do things and understand that if she does something she may hurt herself …
